Hartford

FREEBEE’S SUMMER JAM

Bring your youth group  to us for a buzz into urban agriculture, expressive arts, and a whole lotta fun-Free!

Organizations and Groups are invited to enroll for August 2021. Choosing days and times that work within your scheduled days. Free!

Free Center has assembled a team with deep community roots and experience in leading arts and cultural lessons developed for all ages and abilities.

Our enrichment programming offers students, organizations, and community members an opportunity to deepen their relationships with others, with their surroundings, and within themselves through activities and learning experiences of gardening, expressive arts, crafts, and dialogue.
We will explore the intersection of art and nature through collaborative inquiry and hands-on artmaking. Participants explore urban gardening, create artwork with the natural ecology of our urban landscapes, engage in imaginative experiences in expressive arts, and deepen connections within themselves and with each other.
Whether we are digging in the garden or putting poetry into movement, our focus is on cultivating creativity and community.
To enroll, an organization or community group can reach out and schedule time with us.
Days are organized around your specific groups’ scheduling preference – a day, a week or a series of weeks. We will curate the curriculum based on your interests and time.
Free Center will follow the guidelines for summer programming outlined by the Hartford Health Department and the CDC. We’ll continue to rely on masks, outdoor education spaces, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, and social distancing to make our 2021 camp season safe
