She holds her own flame and remains full of color and magic, despite those who are reaching out around her- whether it be to take from her or grab at her—as they perish in their own fires. The question, “Is that you?” is something I get asked a lot about the women I portray in my art. And while I am often my own muse, the women portrayed can be any woman, past or present, living or dead, as I believe we all have experiences that connect us to each other both presently and in past lives.
