Kevin Qiao | mr.x (JP guy) | This work is about the sexuality of gay community, and my aware of the sex culture of gay community. The models on these series are from an application, Grindr, which is the famous gay dating application. Sometime I use real profile which my real personal in-formation, but sometimes I use fake profile which I use found profile photo from online and make a new profile for the profile photo. All guys attracted by deferent purpose, but I will ask them a date. I usually told them I want to photograph them before I go to date. I used to have a conversa-tion before shooting because I want to know what they expect from the application and what hap-pen to their life. Even a lot of people say they are looking for sex, but I found that they are not looking for a sex, they just need a company and someone to talk. The most shooting places are their apartment or hotel room. I usually ask them act as usual, don’t need them to pose in front of camera. And I will stop them when I want to shoot. This series seems presenting my models, but I found these photos are presenting myself as well. I saw myself in these photographs that’s the rea-son I call this series “Mr. X”.
